Hike trail: Sörmlandsleden
Day 1 – Trosa – Björken Vindskydd
Distance: 20 km
Trail sections: Trosa – Björken Vindskydd

The adventure begins with a train ride from Stockholm Central down to Vagnhärad. From there, we catch a bus to Trosa, where our two-day hike officially starts. Trosa is a charming little town, full of character and definitely worth a visit on its own.
From the town center, we start our short hike towards Björken Vindskydd, where we’ll camp for the night. It doesn’t take long before we leave the town behind and step into the countryside. The surroundings quickly become beautiful — fields give way to forests, and soon we’re surrounded by tall trees and the sounds of nature.
The first part of the route is along asphalt, but before long the trail turns to gravel and then forest paths. The whole walk feels peaceful and relaxed, with just the occasional open stretch where we can stop and take in the view.

After a few hours, we reach our destination for the evening. We set up the tent, enjoy the late sun, and light a small fire to prepare a simple meal. The evening is calm, the air fresh, and it’s the perfect way to end the first day of the hike.

Day 2 – Björken Vindskydd – Tvären Vindskydd – Tystberga
Distance: 31 km
Trail sections: Björken Vindskydd – Tystberga

We wake up to another beautiful morning — clear skies and perfect hiking weather. The plan for the day is to make our way toward Tystberga, where we’ll take a bus to Nyköping and then catch a train back to Stockholm. But before turning inland, we take a detour down to the coast to visit Tvären Vindskydd.
Most of today’s route leads us through forests, occasionally opening up to farmland where cows and sheep graze peacefully. As we pass by, a few curious cows lift their heads to watch us, but otherwise, the only sounds are the wind and birdsong.

During the day, we pass through several types of forest — some dense and shady, others light and open — each with its own atmosphere. The trail feels varied and rewarding, and it’s a wonderful day to be out exploring, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying the quiet beauty of nature.
